In 5 Years is an AI-powered personal growth companion designed to support individuals in documenting their personal journeys, setting and pursuing goals, and reflecting on their progress over time. Key features include:
- Video journaling — upload and securely store personal video recordings
- AI-guided conversations powered by large language models
- Goal setting, progress tracking, and milestone documentation
- Motivational and supportive communications via email and WhatsApp
- A retrospective experience allowing users to revisit earlier recordings and goals
The Service is provided on a subscription or one-time purchase basis and is subject to availability and technical requirements.
3. User Accounts and Eligibility
To access the full features of In 5 Years, you must create an account. You represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 18 years of age
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract
- All information you provide is accurate, current, and complete
- You will maintain the security of your account credentials
- You will promptly notify us of any unauthorized access to your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information, violate these Terms, or engage in any conduct we deem harmful to the Service or other users.
4. Payment Terms
Access to In 5 Years requires payment via one of the following options:
- Subscription Plans: Monthly or annual recurring payments processed via Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- Lifetime Access: A one-time payment granting permanent access to the Service as it exists at the time of purchase, subject to reasonable future changes.
All prices are listed in USD unless otherwise stated. You are responsible for all applicable taxes. Refund eligibility is assessed on a case-by-case basis and is not guaranteed. Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us may result in account suspension.
5. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Service, including videos, written entries, and goal descriptions ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant In 5 Years a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
You are solely responsible for the content you upload. You agree not to upload content that:
- Contains illegal material or infringes any third-party rights
- Includes content depicting minors in any inappropriate manner
- Is intended to harass, defame, or harm others
- Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
We do not claim ownership of your content and do not use it to train AI models without your explicit consent.
6. AI Interactions Disclaimer
In 5 Years uses artificial intelligence to provide guidance, motivation, and support. You acknowledge and understand that:
- AI-generated content is not a substitute for professional mental health support, therapy, counselling, or medical advice
- The Service is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any mental health condition or psychological disorder
- If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or emergency services in your area
- AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate, inappropriate, or unhelpful — use your own judgment when interpreting AI guidance
7. Data Storage and Retention
Your data, including videos, conversation history, and account information, is stored securely using industry-standard practices. Video files are stored on Cloudflare R2 infrastructure. Metadata and account data are stored in secure databases with appropriate access controls.
We retain your data for the duration of your active account and for 90 days following account deletion or subscription cancellation. After this period, your data is permanently deleted unless legal obligations require longer retention.
8. Termination of Service
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at support@in5years.online. Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease and your data will be retained for 90 days before permanent deletion.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if we determine you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or caused harm to the Service, other users, or third parties. Active subscriptions terminated for cause are not eligible for refund.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, In 5 Years, its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. This includes, without limitation, loss of data, loss of profits, emotional harm, or any other intangible losses.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with generally accepted principles of international commercial law and applicable data protection regulations. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation and, failing that, binding arbitration in a mutually agreed jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws in your country of residence.
